FAQs

HAVE QUESTIONS?

Alpha is a series of conversations about life, faith, and meaning. It’s a space where you can bring your thoughts, doubts, and questions—without judgment. It’s an opportunity to explore life’s big questions in a relaxed and open environment, in good company—over a good meal.

The Camino is more than a physical journey—it’s a time of reflection, discovery and encounters with new people and ideas. Alpha fits naturally into this experience offering another way to explore, not just the physical road, but also the journey of life and purpose.

Santiago, or James the Apostle, was one of Jesus’ followers. According to tradition, he came to the Iberian Peninsula to share Jesus’s message of love, forgiveness, and purpose. After his death, his remains were brought to Compostela, which is why the Camino de Santiago became a pilgrimage route.

We start by sharing a meal—because good conversations happen best around the table. Then, we watch a short video that presents a big question about life and faith. After that, we break into small groups where you can question, share your stories, listen or just enjoy the company. It is a great opportunity to recharge, meet fellow pilgrims, and enjoy good food together.

Sessions are hosted at common stops along the Camino Portugues Coastal/Central route. Start your Camino in Porto and join us in Vila do Conde on August 20, 2025 at 17:30.

We have planned the sessions to fit into your day’s walk.

Topics range from questions about life and spirituality to faith, purpose, and relationships. Each session offers something unique and interesting.

The audio on our videos is available in English, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese. For those who speak other languages, we offer videos in English with subtitles in other languages. During group discussions we use AI-assisted translation, so everyone can participate.

Yes, but we’ll be happy to assist if needed.

No—Alpha on the Camino is completely free, including meals.

That’s totally fine! Alpha isn’t about agreeing—it’s about conversation. Your thoughts, questions, and opinions are welcome, and you won’t be judged for them. In fact, your perspective might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Many of us carry silent fears—about  today’s troubled world, about being alone, about not knowing what the future holds. Alpha on the Camino creates a space where you don’t have to face those thoughts alone. Many rediscover hope, not necessarily because they find answers, but because they find people—a community where they feel seen, heard, and valued. You’re not alone here. You’re welcome—just as you are.

There isn’t one. You’re free to come, stay, or leave, no expectations, no pressure, no signup sheet at the end, and no strings attached. Just real conversations with fellow travelers on the journey of life. Come, see and be surprised!
